Permanent Residence

• EXPRESS ENTRY
Canada Immigration uses Express Entry to manage applications for permanent residence for following programs:
- • Federal Skilled Worker Program
- • Federal Skilled Trades Program
- • Canadian Experience Class
There are two steps to apply to the Express Entry system:
Step 1: Submit an application for Express Entry, and the application will remain in the pool for 12 months. Getting into the pool doesn't mean that Canada Immigration will invite the applicant to apply for permanent residence. To be chosen from the pool the applicant needs to have one of the highest-ranking scores. If the applicant is invited, he/she can apply for permanent residence. The applicant will be ranked in the Express Entry pool using a points-based system called the Comprehensive Ranking
System (CRS) The CRS gives a score based on:
- • Age
- • Education
- • Language Ability
- • Work Experience
- • Other Factors
Step 2: Immigration invites the highest-ranking candidates in the pool to apply for permanent residence. The applicant must apply for permanent residence within 90 days. The applicant must meet eligibility and admissibility requirements under Canada's immigration law.
